PM Ramble: Allied Minds (ALM) & Majestic Wine (MJW)

Continuing very briefly on from today's ML...

One would be wise to look in to the psychological models of traders Re: Allied Minds (ALM) share performance. The SP had performed quite well, in a consolidation manner, but support and volumes dropped. With the most recent PR push and the news post IPO drying up its over to the company to drive news (aka the SP) forward. The leveraged traders will be closing positions, nothing up with that they pays their money they takes their choice. 28 days post the recent highs, ALM was a classic example of over-trading/leveraged hope.

Finally, for those that remember my commentary on Majestic Wines (MJW), and the theory of the customer reducing the size of orders (contrary to the MJW). Majestic has mirrored the declines in the Supermarkets. One will have to wait till November for the interims results to confirm how the business is doing, save for any announcements on or around the 15th October. One will be fully aware  of the issues for Supermarket's with the competitive nature (smaller order as well) in the sector it will certainly be raising questions about the resilience of MJW's model (MJW link).

One wonders how Majestic Calais is performing etc...with a TP originally of 300 currently 377, it would be wise to take some monies off the table and await the results. The key points are revenue, margins and average spend with cashflow hopefully not dropping further from March 2013 £27.4 and £23.6 March 2014. Net cash was £1.8m in March 2014, so with the declines seen by the supermarkets is this likely to be lower? Hmmm

Not long to find out.

  2. Shall be interesting as Compact GTL stated "This ruling will not impact CompactGTL’s current business, as the activities found to infringe are no longer being carried out by the Company." Perhaps others are more wise to this? TC F
